Welcome to the Milford Oval
It continues to be a commercial district and gathering place for the town, just as
it was over 200 years ago when the town was first founded. The area has
five parks, is rich with historically significant buildings and structures, and
represents the life and character of Milford.
Many community events take place on the Oval and on any given day you will find
people strolling through the town center, doing business here, visiting one of
the area's restaurants, or just enjoying the downtown.
The Milford Oval was named "Best Small Downtown in New Hampshire" by the New
Hampshire Magazine in 2005. The Milford Oval was most recently named "Best
Town Common in Summer" by the New Hampshire Magazine in 2007.
The Milford Oval is a traditional New England downtown. The Oval functions as
the heart of Milford with a town common that has a historic bandstand, trees,
benches, and brick pathways. Town buildings, businesses, restaurants, and
other organizations line the area around the Oval, officially called Union
Square.
